Councilwoman Paula Brown started her career working for William E. Simon, the Secretary of the Treasury, and Francine Neff, the Treasurer of the United States under President Gerald Ford.After her tenure with the government, she moved to the private sector. She worked for Deloitte, Abu Dhabi International Bank, Coopers, and Lybrand, and Friedman, Billings, Ramsey, where she helped assist in managing two private equity funds in mortgage back securities.In 2004, she left FBR to move to Bluffton, where she opened her flower shop, Flowers by Paula. In 2008, she sold her business to her floral designer and moved back to Virginia.After coming to her senses in 2012, her family moved back to Bluffton, where she worked for local CPA firms during tax season. Realizing that just wasn’t enough, she ended up returning to school and attending the University of South Carolina Law School Paralegal studies program.In 2014 started to work for CareCore National, a.k.a eviCore healthcare, as an Assistant in the Legal Department. Unfortunately, in 2020 her job was eliminated after eviCore merged with Cigna.In her spare time you will find Paula playing golf with the LPGA Amateurs Golf Association, Reading or at one of her favorite Bar/Restaurant’s sitting in her favorite seat, talking to “We the People”.
