Partisan Candidate Filing

 The Board of Voter Registration and Elections of Beaufort County is reminding all potential partisan candidates that the Beaufort Office is open to accept Candidate Filing.  To ensure the safety of candidates and election staff, due to the Coronavirus, it is recommended that you call and make an appointment to reduce the chances of coming in contact with others.  (Making an appointment is optional.)

The Beaufort office is open Monday – Friday 8 am – 5 pm and is located at 15 John Galt Rd, Beaufort, SC 29906.  For appointments, call 843-255-6900.

Candidate filing will close at noon on March 30, 2020.  All partisan candidates seeking office in the November 3, 2020 General Election must file by this time.

Partisan Offices on the November 3, 2020 ballot:

  • US Senate (Dist 1) – Files at the State Election Commission
  • US House of Representatives (Dist 1 & 6) – Files at the State Election Commission
  • SC Senate (Dist 43, 45, & 46)
  • SC House of Representatives (Dist 118, 120, 121, 122, 123, & 124)
  • Solicitor (Circuit 14) – Files at the State Election Commission
  • Beaufort County Clerk of Court
  • Beaufort County Coroner
  • Beaufort County Council (Dist 1, 3, 5, & 7)
