The Beaufort County Community Services and Land Use Committee met Monday and here are some highlights:

• Report by Assistant County Administrator Chuck Atkinson: presentation by Passive Parks Director Stefanie Nagid
• Report by Assistant County Administrator Audra Antonacci-Ogden: presentation by Beaufort County Alcohol and Drug Abuse Department Director Rebecca Witt
• Recommend approval to County Council an ordinance authorizing the County Administrator to execute necessary documents to convey real property at 333 and 335 Buckwalter Parkway for development of workforce and affordable housing and medical facilities
•  Greenspace Advisory Committee update on Mitchelville Project by Committee Chairman Mike McShane
• Recommend approval to County Council of a resolution partnering with the United Way of the Lowcountry

The Beaufort County Public Facilities and Safety Committee met Monday and here are some highlights:

• ACA Fralix also gave presentations on road and signal assets
• Recommend approval to County Council of a resolution to adopt the 2023 Beaufort County Traffic Calming policy
• Recommend approval to County Council of an ordinance authorizing the County Administrator to provide funding for the purchase of Cooler Tract
• Recommend approval to County Council to award a contract to Wood & Partners for Camp St. Mary's A&E Service
• Recommend approval to County Council of a resolution for several airport-related projects including:
  • to accept the FAA Airport Improvement Project Grant for St. James Baptist Church Relocation
  • to accept FAA Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Airport infrastructure grant for Hilton head Island Airport Layout Plan
  • to enter into a letter of agreement with several taxi/limousine services 

The next Community Services and Land Use Committee meeting will be Monday, September 9, at 3 p.m.

The next Public Facilities and Safety Committee will be Monday, September 16, at 3 p.m.

The next regular County Council meeting will be Monday, August 26, at 5 p.m.
