Lowcountry Council of Governments

The Lowcountry Council of Governments provides creative regional solutions to Beaufort, Colleton, Hampton, and Jasper Counties. The organization serves as a resource to the 25 local governments in the region and connects those jurisdictions to specific state and federal programs.

We provide services in four primary areas:

  1. Aging & Disability Resource - Area Agency on Aging (AAA): Offers access and information on a broad range of senior living services.
  2. Planning and Transportation: Provides demographic and statistical data and research, GIS, regional transportation/transit planning, regional water quality management, and local land-use planning.
  3. Community & Economic Development: Facilitates community infrastructure grants, economic development grants and affordable housing programs and business loan programs.
  4. Workforce Development: Delivers adult and youth job training and support services.

Board Meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of each month (January through October). Meetings are held in Point South (Yemasee, SC). Board Meetings start at 6:30PM with fellowship at 6:00PM. Meetings last approximately ninety minutes.
