The Beaufort County Administrator may cause county departments to close due to hazardous weather. If hazardous weather conditions make it impossible for an employee to report to their place of work, or if the employee arrives late or leaves early, the employee may be allowed, at the discretion of the department director, to:

• Use accrued PLT
• Take leave without pay

When unable to report for work due to weather conditions, employees shall notify their supervisors as soon as possible.
