FEMA is opening another Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Beaufort County to provide continued in-person assistance to residents affected by Hurricane Helene before the extended application deadline of January 28. Representatives from FEMA will be available to provide assistance, with no appointment necessary.

The Disaster Recovery Center will be open at the Saint Helena Library, located at 16355 Jonathan Francis Senior Rd (map), from Wednesday, January 8 through January 10. Hours of operation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on January 8 and 9, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on January 10.

The quickest way to apply is to go online to DisasterAssistance.gov. You can also apply using the FEMA App for mobile devices or calling toll-free 800-621-3362. The telephone line is open every day and help is available in many languages. If you use a relay service, such as Video Relay Service (VRS), captioned telephone or other service, give FEMA your number for that service.
