Normal Operations to Resume Monday, January 27, 2025

Beaufort County offices will return to normal operations Monday, January 27, 2025. Saturday's Parks and Recreation events are cancelled, and facilities will remain closed. A decision regarding Sunday hours for Burton Wells and Buckwalter Recreation Center will be made Saturday. All other parks and recreation facilities will reopen on Monday. All libraries will remain closed through the weekend, and will reopen for regular hours on Monday, January 27.

The public is still urged not to travel unless absolutely necessary - dangerous road conditions could persist through the weekend, with the likelihood for black ice to develop on roads overnight. If you must drive, SCDOT has prepared a winter storm resource page that has live updates on road conditions and closures. Please ensure you clear all snow and ice from your vehicle before travel - including your roof and hood.

Please remember to use caution around sloped roofs or elevated structures: as temperatures rise, large pieces could be released onto people, cars, or structures below.

County Airports
Due to ice accumulation, both Hilton Head Island Airport and Beaufort Executive Airport airfields remain closed. Travelers should check with their carriers for any possible flight delays or cancellations. Air travelers are encouraged to download their respective airline apps on their mobile devices and to enable notifications so they are sure to receive the latest official word from their airline. Travelers are encouraged to check their airlines for waivers, as well. Inquiries regarding flight information should be directed to the individual carriers. Operating schedules at both airports are subject to weather conditions.

Beaufort County Animal Services
Pets should be brought inside to shelter from the weather. Remember, if it's too cold for you, it's too cold for them!
