Wednesday, January 15, 2025 8:47 AM
Beaufort County is hosting a Public Meeting on Thursday, January 23, 2025, for the S-111 (Big Estate Road) Sidewalk, one of the 14 priority locations as approved in the 2018 One Cent Sales Tax Referendum.
Beaufort County staff will present the proposed design for the 8′ sidewalk on Big Estate Road from US 17 (Charleston Highway) to S-763 (Big Estate Circle)/African Baptist Road intersection. The sidewalk improves pedestrian and bicyclist safety by providing a separate facility from the roadway.
The meeting will be held at the Booker T Washington Center, located at 182 Booker T Washington Circle, Yemassee, SC 29945 (map) from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The meeting will be conducted as an informal, drop-in format. There will be displays that depict the proposed design, and representatives from Beaufort County Engineering, J. Bragg Consulting, and Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering will be available to discuss the proposed improvements, answer questions, and listen to feedback. No formal presentation will be made.
The proposed design exhibits and other project information are available on the virtual meeting webpage. Click HERE to visit the website, view the information and submit comments by February 7, 2025.
