Beaufort County continues to monitor Hurricane Milton, and we want to remind our residents to stay alert and prepare now for any potential impacts. Download the Everbridge App to receive the most up to date alerts and weather information from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.

Beaufort County is currently under a Tropical Storm Watch and a Storm Surge Watch. According to the National Weather Service, storm surge inundation and beach erosion are likely to be our area’s highest impacts, starting Wednesday into Thursday. Marine conditions will be dangerous, with waves of 5ft or greater possible on our beaches.

County facilities and operations are currently scheduled to continue as normally scheduled through the week. Ferry service to Daufuskie Island may be impacted Thursday and/or Friday depending on weather conditions. Due to potentially high winds, trips may be cancelled at the Captain’s discretion for the safety of passengers and crew. Please visit lowcoferry.com for the latest updates.
