Beaufort County Council and Beaufort County Board of Voter Registration and Elections are hosting two Joint Public Hearings for the 2024 Sales Tax Referendum.

The public hearings will be held:

• Tuesday, October 15, at 5 p.m., at Buckwalter Recreation Center, 905 Buckwalter Parkway, Bluffton (map)
  
  
• Wednesday, October 16, 5 p.m., at Council Chambers, Administration Building, 100 Ribaut Road, Beaufort (map)

Assistant County Administrator, Infrastructure-Jared Fralix will be present at both public hearings to provide additional information and answer questions.

County Registration and Elections will conduct a referendum Tuesday, November 5, to impose a special sales and use tax in the amount of one percent in Beaufort County for not more than ten (10) years, or until a total of $950,000,000 in resulting revenue has been collected, whichever occurs first.

The public is encouraged to attend and share their comments. Registration is not required.
