Beaufort County Services Update After Hurricane Helene

Travel Advisory
The primary hazards for drivers are downed trees and power lines, debris in the roadway and traffic signal outages. If you must travel, please continue to be cautious. Remember to slow down and give clearance to law enforcement, first responders, and emergency vehicles.
County Public Works Department
County Public Works crews worked diligently through the storm cleaning up downed trees and addressing localized flooding. Crews are now turning their efforts toward clean up and debris removal. County Public Works crews handled over 40 calls for service during the storm.
County Convenience Centers
County Convenience Centers will reopen tomorrow, September 28 for regular hours (7:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.). Decals will still be required for residents to dispose of storm debris, but the limit of three visits per week will be waived through Tuesday, October 1. Additional staff and equipment will be available through the weekend to assist with efficient disposal of storm debris and traffic management.
As a reminder, convenience centers are for residential trash and debris only.
County Airports
Both Beaufort Executive Airport and Hilton Head Island Airport are open and operating on normal schedules. Passengers should continue to check with their airlines in case of continued storm-related delays.
Daufuskie Island Ferry Service
Lowcountry Ferry service to Daufuskie Island has returned to its normal schedule. Check their website for the latest developments.
