The County’s contractor, APAC-Atlantic, Inc, will begin work on SC 170 near the interchange with US 278, between Okatie Center Blvd North and Okatie Center Blvd South, next week. This project is part of the SC 170 Near Term Improvements project.

The contractor will be performing drainage and earthwork improvements in preparation of future paving. Road work will be done from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. daily. 

Shoulder and lane closures are not expected at this time, however, motorists are advised to still use caution while in the area and adhere to traffic control and signage.

The project is expected to continue for the next several months.

This is a joint project between Beaufort County, South Carolina Department of Transportation, Jasper County, and City of Hardeeville. Beaufort County would like to extend its gratitude to all the partners associated with this project.
