Be sure to catch the newest episode of another creative series on Beaufort County's BCTV: Live Work Play. 

The Live Work Play series is created and produced by Broadcast Producer Troy Matthews. Each episode will vary in length and showcase the beauty and excitement of living, working and playing in Beaufort County.

This episode is entitled "Oyster Shell Recycling" and follows SC Department of Natural Resources as they collect recycled oyster shells and ferry them out to several maintained oyster beds. The beds are reseeded each season to allow another generation of oysters to grow, then during oyster season, they are environmentally harvested for our enjoyment. 

Also included in this episode of Live, Work, Play is a citation presentation by County Council Member Alice Howard in recognition of oyster recycling month and the importance of shell recycling, bed reseeding, and oyster harvesting as an income industry here in the Lowcountry.

Troy is a lifelong Beaufortonian. His work is both Emmy-award winning and Grammy-nominated in Documentary Sound category. He's worked for various news entertainment and documentary companies in New York City before returning to Beaufort County.
