Beaufort County is pleased to announce the successful execution of a contract with Lowcountry Ferry, securing the continued provision of ferry services to Daufuskie Island from the mainland temporary embarkation site at CC Haigh, Jr. This agreement reinforces Beaufort County's dedication to enhancing accessibility to this cherished destination and supporting the vibrant lives of residents on Daufuskie Island.

The daily ferry schedule will be:

To Daufuskie Island (departing from CC Haigh, Jr.): 7 a.m., 10 a.m., 1 p.m., and 4 p.m.

From Daufuskie (departing from Melrose Landing): 8:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m., and 5:30 p.m.

John Robinson, Beaufort County Interim Administrator, lauded the new ferry operator, stating “We are thrilled to begin this partnership with Lowcountry Ferry in service of residents and visitors to Daufuskie Island. Mr. Turner, the owner operator of Lowcountry Ferry, has an experienced staff of Licensed Captains and Mates who will serve the visitors and residents of the island well.” 

The County is committed to providing seamless operation of the Daufuskie Island Ferry Service. As a reminder, the embarkation point to Daufuskie Island via the public ferry service provided by Lowcountry Ferry is the CC Haigh, Jr. Boat Landing at 2 William Hilton Parkway, Hilton Head Island. The agreement with Lowcountry Ferry is effective immediately. Lowcountry Ferry will begin providing ferry services on January 16, 2024. Additional information on ticketing and fares will be available on Monday, January 8.
