Beaufort County Parks and Recreation invites the community to join us for an exciting ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, October 5th at 2 p.m. We are thrilled to unveil the newest addition to the Burton Wells Complex: eight brand-new pickleball courts!

Beaufort County Councilman Gerald Dawson said, "We are excited to continue with the master plan at Burton Wells by adding the 8 pickleball courts. We know that recreation is an important part of everyday life, especially in the rural areas.”

The sport of pickleball has been on an incredible rise, with over 36.5 million people actively participating from August 2021 to 2022. For the third consecutive year, pickleball has been recognized as the fastest-growing sport, firmly establishing its place in the sports world.

Construction on these state-of-the-art pickleball courts commenced in March, and their quick construction is a testament to Beaufort County's unwavering commitment to enhancing the lives and recreation opportunities enjoyed by its residents.
