Beaufort County is proud to announce the unanimous approval of a resolution to enter into an Intergovernmental Support Agreement (IGSA) with the Department of Defense. This agreement will serve to support operations at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island (MCRD Parris Island), the Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS), and the Naval Hospital by providing essential general governmental services.

This Intergovernmental Support Agreement represents a significant continuation in the partnership between Beaufort County and our esteemed local military installations. The IGSA provides a meaningful way for local jurisdictions to offer support to these installations and their overall missions. By extending our services, we not only enhance the operational efficiency of these vital facilities but also underscore the support of the county for the men and women who serve our nation at these facilities.

“This a great opportunity for us to support our local military installations,” said Assistant County Administrator of Infrastructure Jared Fralix. “Their main mission is national defense. Our main mission is general support services. By assisting in their non-mission critical services, we are both working in our areas of expertise to advance the national security of our great nation!”
