State of Emergency Ended
Emergency Shelter Closed In Jasper County
All Beaufort County offices and facilities remain closed today, Thursday, August 31 and will reopen for regular business tomorrow Friday, September 1, beginning at 8 a.m.
“I am grateful that Idalia took it easy on Beaufort County,” said Interim Administrator John Robinson. “The coordination and preparation of all the County offices and municipalities was exceptional.”
State of Emergency Rescinded
Beaufort County Council Chairman Joseph Passiment has rescinded the state of emergency for Beaufort County.
Travel Advisory
Flooding and debris may be on some roadways. Power lines may also be down in some areas. Please continue to be cautious if you must travel and remember to keep roads clear for law enforcement and emergency vehicles.
Emergency Shelter Has Closed
Jasper County Emergency Services has closed the emergency shelter.
County Animal Services

County Public Works Department
County Public Works crews worked through the storm cleaning up downed trees and are now out doing post-hurricane damage assessment. All County Public Works staff will return to work Friday and take care of any remaining clean-up.
County Convenience Centers
County Convenience Centers remain closed today, Thursday, August 31. Depending on weather and safety issues, it's anticipated that those centers normally operating on Friday, will be open. However, if it is not safe to do so, an announcement will be posted.
County Airports
Both Beaufort Executive Airport and Hilton Head Island Airport are open and operating on normal schedules. Neither location experienced any storm-related damage. Passengers should continue to check with their airlines in case of continued storm-related delays.
Daufuskie Island Ferry Service
The Daufuskie Island Ferry service has returned to its regular schedule. The Visitors Center has reopened and shuttle service has returned to normal.
