The 2023 County Council meeting calendar was released by the Clerk to Council with Council meetings now beginning at 5 p.m. Council Committees have been reworked and will begin at 3 p.m.

“This schedule will allow for consistency and transparency with our public,” said Chairman Joe Passiment. “We have consolidated the committees into three, so they will have agenda items to meet as scheduled. Our starting times will be consistently at 3 p.m. for Committees and 5 p.m. for County Council.”

All meetings will be held at the Beaufort County Administration Building in the Council Chambers. This Calendar is subject to change, and Special Council meetings may be added.

County Council will be held on the second and fourth Monday each month. The first County Council meeting will be held January 3, 2023, for the Oath of Office and Swearing in Ceremony.

The Council Committees will meet at 3 p.m. and have been renamed the following:

Community Services and Land Use (formerly Community Services and Natural Resources Committees)

• 2^nd Monday of the Month

Finance, Administration, and Economic Development (formerly Finance and Executive Committees)

• 3^rd Monday of the Month (Tuesday when it falls on a Federal Holidays)

Public Facility and Safety (formerly Public Facilities and Community Service Committees)

• 4^th Monday of the Month
