Beaufort County intends to apply to the SC Department of Transportation’s Office of Public Transit for funds to help support a public ferry service program to Daufuskie Island, for residents and property owners on the island, as well as countywide transportation services for persons with disabilities for the 2020- 2021 fiscal year. For several years, the County has received State Mass Transit Funds and funds from the Section 5310 Program - Elderly Individuals and Individuals with Disabilities - to assist with local transportation needs.  Details are available in the County’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports, available here.
