Friday, October 18, 2019 9:59 AM
The Beaufort County Disabilities and Special Needs (DSN) Department and ABLE - the Disabilities Foundation of Beaufort County - are hosting a fall bazaar to help raise public awareness and to support services for children and adults in Beaufort County with developmental disabilities.
The bazaar will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 2 at the DSN complex located at 100 Clear Water Way in Beaufort [map].
Festivities will include arts and crafts, food, music, The County Channel team and live truck, and more with participation by various community-based groups. Anyone wanting a tour of the facility can speak to DSN staff and ABLE board members, who will be identified with a badge.
The bazaar helps to support disabilities and special needs programming like Camp Treasure Chest [informational video], the only summer camp in Beaufort County for children with severe intellectual developmental and related disabilities. The Beaufort County DSN Department has coordinated the camp for more than 20 years and helped approximately 75 children across the County to have a summer camp experience they otherwise would not receive.
ABLE is also seeking vendors for the event. For more information about the bazaar, contact Leisha Powell at 843-255-6285.
