Beaufort County Treasurer Maria Walls together with PayIt, the Treasurer’s innovative partner in government payment solutions, has announced a special sweepstakes for Beaufort County’s taxpayers. By simply signing up to receive their tax bill electronically, taxpayers will be eligible to win $3,000.

E-billing is easy and can be done in four simple steps:        

1) Visit myBeaufortCounty.com or the myBeaufortCounty app on your mobile device.

2) Log in or create an account.

3) Select your Beaufort County properties.

4) Enroll your properties in e-billing.

Beaufort County was the first County in the State of South Carolina to offer electronic billing to its citizens. The service is newly permitted by State law after Treasurer Walls worked with State Senator Chip Campsen to craft legislation that would give property owners the option to receive their tax bills electronically.

According to Treasurer Walls, the County spends hundreds of thousands of dollars on postage and stamps to send hardcopy tax bills but when a taxpayer signs up for e-billing, it is at no cost to the County or the taxpayer; and the taxpayer receives their tax bill, as well as payment reminders, conveniently and securely.

Taxpayers must sign up before October 15, 2019, to be entered in the sweepstakes. Official sweepstakes rules can be found at Ebilling.MyBeaufortCounty.com. E-billing is available for all property types, which are real and personal property as well as motor vehicles.
