Hurricane Dorian Update: Saturday Evening, August 31

Beaufort County officials participated in a call at 5 p.m. today, Saturday, August 31, with South Carolina's state and county emergency management divisions. The call included a briefing from the National Weather Service and further discussion on preparing for potential impacts from Hurricane Dorian in South Carolina, especially in the coastal counties. No decision regarding an evacuation has been made at this time.
Officials will participate in another call at 9 a.m. tomorrow, Sunday September 1. Following the call, Beaufort County Sheriff P.J. Tanner will hold a press conference at 11 a.m. to address Hurricane Dorian’s potential impacts on Beaufort County. The public is encouraged to watch the press conference live:
The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office Emergency Operations Center (EOC) will be activated tomorrow, Sunday, September 1 at 12 p.m. to increase the County’s state of preparedness for Hurricane Dorian.
