Future Public Access Projects

As preserve properties move through the planning and development process for public access, details will be provided and updated regularly. Projects currently being worked on are listed below.

Bailey Memorial Preserve (Bluffton/Alljoy)
- The County approved conceptual plan for Bailey Memorial Preserve can be downloaded here.
- County staff are currently waiting on funding to be obtained to move forward with construction permits.
Pineview Preserve (Lady's Island/Sams Point Road)
- The County approved conceptual plan for Pineview Preserve can be downloaded here.
- County staff are currently finalizing the necessary construction permits.
Camp St. Mary's (Okatie/Camp St Marys Road)
- The County approved conceptual plan for Camp St. Mary's Preserve can be downloaded here.
- County staff hired a contractor to conduct property clean up and an engineering firm to create the construction documents.
Fords Shell Ring (Hilton Head/Squire Pope Road)
- The County and Town approved plan for Fords Shell Ring can be downloaded here.
- County and Town staff are currently finalizing the necessary construction permits.
Okatie River Preserve (Bluffton/Hwy278)
- The County approved conceptual plan for Okatie River Preserve can be downloaded here.
- County staff hired a construction contractor and construction began in December 2024.
