Fair Housing
FAIR HOUSING IS THE LAW. April is Fair Housing month, and marks the anniversary of the passage of Title 8 of the Civil Rights Act of 1968, as amended, and otherwise known as the Fair Housing Act. This Act and the 1989 South Carolina Fair Housing Law support the policy of fair housing. We all have a right to be treated fairly in the sale, rental, and financing of dwellings and in other housing-related transactions, regardless of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, or disability.
If you believe that you have been treated unfairly and have been a victim of discriminatory housing practices, you have avenues by which the matter can be investigated. For more information about Fair Housing, please click here for additional information or call 843-473-3990.
