Historic Preservation Review Board

The Historic Preservation Review Board provides Beaufort County Council with records, an ongoing survey, evaluations, and recommendations concerning the preservation and protection of historically significant structures and sites. In addition, the Historic Preservation Review Board is responsible for issuing Certificates of Appropriateness for all changes to properties listed, or eligible for listing, on the National Register of Historic Places.

  • Meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month at 1:00 p.m.
  • Meetings last approximately two hours.
  • Meetings are held in the Executive Conference Room, Administration Building, Beaufort County Government Robert Smalls Complex, 100 Ribaut Road, Beaufort.
  • A strong interest and concern in preserving the historical and cultural heritage of Beaufort County are desired.
