Public Works
The Department of Public Works has the responsibility for a wide variety of programs and activities related to Roads and Drainage, Grounds Maintenance, Stormwater, Solid Waste & Recycling, and Water Recreational accesses. Public Works is also the contract liaison for Fleet Management, Disaster Recovery and Fuel Management.
Beaufort County Public Works has two locations, serving areas north and south of the Broad River.

Mission Statement
The Beaufort County Public Works Department (BC - PWD) provides residents with a safe, healthy enjoyable, and sustainable environment through the effective and efficient deployment of services in a responsive, courteous manner based on the County’s priorities. The BC - PWD span of control includes Roads & Drainage infrastructure, Stormwater Management program, Fleet Management, Disaster Recovery, Solid Waste & Recycling, and Grounds Maintenance. The coordination of all projects and services are integrated through optimal staff synchronization.
