The Finance, Administration and Economic Development Committee met Monday and here are some highlights from the agenda:

• ACA John Robinson gave a brief Finance update regarding the General Fund and Fund Balance, budget highlights and fund transfers. He also introduced the County's new CFO Pinky Harriott. Christine Webb, Director of Compliance, Standards & Internal Controls, and Valerie Althoff, Budget Manager, each gave brief financial updates. Watch the presentations here.
• County Assessor Ebony Sanders gave a brief update with power point presentation regarding the status of legal residency, exemptions and impact with regards to the adjustments and values completed to date. Watch the Assessor's presentation here.
• Special Assistant to the County Administrator Hank Amundson gave an update on ARPA funds received, shared a list of County projects that have ARPA funds obligated toward completion. Watch the presentation here.
• Charlie Stone, Director of Government Affairs at Beaufort Jasper Water and Sewer Authority gave a brief presentation regarding an overview on services provided in unincorporated Beaufort County and Jasper County. He also outlined the growth challenges and current capacity limitations. Investments will need to be made to expand services to meet demands from the growing population.   The committee then voted to:
  
  
• Recommend approval to Council of an ARPA project for public safety support--purchase license plate reading cameras for Beaufort County Sheriff's Office
• Recommend approval to Council accepting a donation of  live Oak Tree at Whitehall Park from Friends of Whitehall Park
• Recommend approval to Council of an ordinance to invest $4,300,000 from General Fund to in infrastructure development project at Beaufort Executive Airport to airport hangar construction
• Recommend approval to Council for Beaufort County to enter into a special source revenue credit agreement with Project Micro
• Recommend approval to Council to award a contract for broadband expansion to serve underserved areas of Beaufort County using ARPA funds
• Recommend approval to Council of a resolution to establish the Beaufort County Local Accommodation Tax and Local Hospitality Tax FY25 list of County projects 
• Discussion of appointment of Patrick Mitchell or Mark Presnell to the Stormwater Management Utility Board. Council voted to recommend Mr. Mitchell but also to advance Mr. Presnell as a qualified applicant.
