Beaufort County Mosquito Control's Jerrod Houston Named Technician of the Year

Beaufort County Mosquito Control Director Robert Cartner announced that Technician Jerrod Houston, received the Technician-of-the-Year Award from the South Carolina Mosquito Control Association (SCMCA) during their annual meeting November 7.
The South Carolina Mosquito Control Association (SCMCA) Technician of the Year award recognizes a mosquito control technician that exhibits excellent performance with efforts above and beyond expected duties; maintains a knowledge of mosquito biology; demonstrates enthusiasm and pride in their work; is an asset to their team and community.
Nominated by Deputy Director Tyler Gault, Mr. Houston was nominated and won because "Here at BCMC Technicians are required to perform a variety of functions including, but not limited to: storm drain treatments, service requests, setting and retrieving traps, larviciding, and ground ULV spraying. Jerrod has a thorough understanding of all his job duties and pays exceptional attention to detail in all aspects of his work.
Regardless of the task at hand, Jerrod displays a meticulous and fastidious work ethic that ensures consistently accurate data, which of course is the backbone to any Mosquito Control program. Jerrod takes exceptional pride in his work as a Mosquito Control Technician and exhibits a level of professionalism and dedication that any supervisor would be proud of. Jerrod routinely receives a high rate of positive reviews and he was recently recognized by Beaufort County Council as an outstanding employee."
