Beaufort County is dedicated to upholding high standards of compliance and reliability in the services offered to our community. In line with this commitment, a formal notice of non-compliance was issued to the subsidized ferry provider, Lowcountry Ferry, on July 3, 2024.

County Administrator Michael Moore emphasized, “The well-being and satisfaction of our residents remain our top priority and Beaufort County is taking steps to address the contract requirement to have a second qualified vessel available for ferry service. Lowcountry Ferry is required to submit a plan for the County’s consideration in order to remedy the situation.”

Collaborative efforts are ongoing between Lowcountry Ferry and Beaufort County to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
