The Finance, Administration and Economic Development Committee met Monday and here are some highlights from the agenda:

• Beaufort County School District presented their FY2024-2025 Budget 
• Voted to recommend approval to Council of a resolution authorizing the allocation of ARPA funds to Hargray and to use funds for broadband service expansion on St. Helena Island
• Voted to recommend approval to Council of an ordinance to make appropriations for County Government and Special Purpose Districts for FY2024/2025;to levy taxes for payment thereof; to adopt service and user fees; to provide for the expenditure of said taxes and other revenues coming into the County
• Recommend approval to Council of the appointment of Justin Cooke to the Seabrook Point Special Tax District for a partial term with the expiration date of February 2027
• Recommend approval to Council of the appointment of Timothy Newman, District 2, to the Beaufort County Transportation Committee and Jessica Reitz, District 2,  for appointment to Keep Beaufort County Beautiful Board

The next Finance, Administration and Economic Development Committee meeting will be Monday, June 17, at 3 p.m.

The next regular County Council meeting will be Tuesday, May 28, at 5 p.m.
