Beaufort County Kicks Off Hurricane Preparedness Public Information Campaign at the Pumps With Gas Station TV
Thursday, September 2, 2021 2:08 PM
With Hurricane Season in full swing and still several months from being over, Beaufort County has developed a hurricane preparedness information campaign that will begin airing on multiple gas stations around the County. When residents and visitors fill up at one of the gas stations, a 30-second commercial created and produced by the Communications and Broadcast Services departments will begin airing on the tv screen.
According to Gas Station TV, Beaufort County is the first in the state to contract with them for hurricane preparedness, evacuation, and re-entry.
Beaufort County is experiencing explosive growth, and with many new residents (and visitors) not realizing safety protocols, these spots will help educate everyone on safety, family evacuation plans, pet evacuations, putting together an evacuation/disaster supply kit, re-entry protocols, and appropriate sources of information to follow before, during and after a hurricane.
The first video to run will be Hurricane Preparedness:

Once hurricane season ends, the spots will pivot to inform citizens about County departments and programs such as mosquito control, available County jobs, capital projects, animal services updates, and more.
