Tuesday, March 31, 2020 6:19 PM
Financial relief is available for small-business owners in Beaufort County to help offset temporary economic challenges related to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The CARES Act, signed into law March 27, 2020, by President Trump, includes the option of applying for up to a $10,000 advance on an Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL).
Funds will be available within three days of a successful application and will not have to be repaid.
EIDL advances might also be available for applicants whose requests are pending or have been denied.
To apply for an advance on your loan, go to www.sba.gov/funding-programs/disaster-assistance. Applicants are urged to do so sooner rather than later. To qualify for the advance, new applications must be submitted even if an EIDL application has already been submitted.
Applying for the advance will not impact the status or timing of existing applications.
