Beaufort County Encourages Proper Recycling this Thanksgiving Holiday
Thursday, November 21, 2019 11:31 AM
Beaufort County residents are encouraged to properly recycle items at any County Convenience Center during normal Center hours this Thanksgiving season.
- In anticipation of increased amounts of post-holiday waste and as a courtesy to other County residents, please remember to flatten all cardboard boxes before placing them in the appropriate dumpsters. Bubble wrap and air pillows can be recycled in the Plastic Bag & Film Collection bins at the Bluffton, Hilton Head, Shanklin and St. Helena Convenience Centers. Click here and here to watch two helpful videos on what items to sort.
- Remember too, after the feast, recycle the grease. For more information about recycling household grease and other accepted recyclables at the Convenience Centers, click here.
- Remember to save all bottle caps for the Palmetto Ocean Conservancy Bottle Cap Mural Project. Beaufort County Solid Waste and Recycle Division is partnering with POC and collecting bottle caps at the Burton Wells Recreation Center in Beaufort and Buckwalter Recreation Center in Bluffton.
