According to a notice from the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT), a public information meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 4, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., in the Bluffton Middle School cafeteria, 30 New Mustang Drive, Bluffton [map], to discuss proposed US 278 safety improvements.

The meeting will provide an opportunity for County residents to review the proposal, ask questions and discuss concerns with SCDOT representatives. The proposed project includes safety improvements at several intersections on US 278, including Buck Island Road, Bluffton Road, Hilton Head Drive and Salt Marsh Drive, as well as pavement marking, traffic signal and access management improvements.
