b'Public Design Review Dashboard LaunchedThe GIS/Mapping Department designed a Design Review Board GIS Dash-board to support the Planning department in their efforts to inform the citizens of Beaufort County as to projects occurring in the community. Available from the home page of www.beaufortsc.gov, citizens can review the status and other infor-mation for multiple projects within the planning department at any time with the Design Review dashboard.Beaufort County Continues Partnership with Beaufort Memorial Hos-pital for Workforce DevelopmentFunded in 2022, the People Achieving Their Highest pilot nursing program ramped up in 2023! The program is aimed at bolstering Beaufort Countys healthcare system and includes scholarships, clinical training, traditional education, and even non-traditional financial assistance to encourage and in-centivize individuals to advance their careers and support a better healthcare network. The PATH program is a joint venture funded by Beaufort Memorial Hospital and Beaufort County. Beaufort County has contributed $700,000 in federal money from the American Rescue Act along with the support from University of South Carolina Beaufort, the Technical College of the Low-country and Beaufort County School District. This year, Beaufort County continued its support of Healthcare Workforce Development by allocating $1.5 million to workforce development programs and simulation labs in the new education center. The new education center and simulation labs will be used to train future nurses enrolled at USCB and individuals enrolled in the Beaufort Memorial PATH Program. In addition, continuing education on clinical competencies and skill demonstration will be provided in the simulation labs to the hospitals current nursing staff.Broadband Everywhere Grant Program Established to Assist with Ru-ral ConnectivityTheBroadbandEverywhereCategory3GrantProgram(BE-CAT3)has been established by Beaufort County to assist residents in areas without access to broadband. The program provides financial support for the construction of service drops that connect homes to an existing broadband network, with partial funding available when the broadband provider is unwilling to cover the cost to build out to the home.Those looking to apply can view more information here.'
