The award was presented during the South Carolina Public Records Associations Annual Conference, held in October.She was presented the leadership award for implementing an updated and more effective Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) platform named Exterro, that can process the thousands of FOIA requests more quickly, more efficiently and more thoroughly. Beaufort County Records Management provides storage for all permanent and inactive County Records for the duration of their established retention period as approved by County Council and the South Carolina Department of Archives & History; they provide support by preparing, scanning, microfilming, and inspecting permanent records for County departments; and they provide for the secure de-struction of non-permanent records that have met their retention length and are of no further value for daily operations.'
