Following the death of the Republican Party nominee for U.S.Senate, a Special Republican Party Primary will be held pursuant to S.C. Code of Laws Section 7-11-55.

Candidate Filing Opens: Noon, Tuesday, July 21

Candidate Filing Closes: Noon, Tuesday, July 28

Deadline to apply for absentee ballot: July 31^st by 5:00 p.m.

Early Voting for Special Primary: August 5, 6, 7 from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Early Voting Locations:

• Main Voter Registration Office in Beaufort: 15 John Galt Rd
• Bluffton Library: 120 Palmetto Way
• USCB HHI: 1 Sand Shark Dr
• St Helena Library: 6355 Jonathan Francis Senior Rd.

 

The Statewide Special Primary will be held Tuesday, August 11.

 

Early Voting for Special Primary Runoff (if necessary): August 19, 20, 21 from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Statewide Special Primary Runoff (if necessary): Tuesday, August 25

 

Who is eligible to vote?:

• Voters who participated in the June Republican Primary or did not vote in either party’s June primary are eligible to vote in the August 11 Special Republican Primary and potential runoff, while voters who participated in the June Democratic Primary are not eligible to vote in the special election.
